The Schengen visa is one of the most sought-after travel documents for UAE residents. A single Schengen visa allows you to travel freely across 27 European countries — from France and Germany to Italy, Spain, Greece and beyond. Understanding the application process is key to a successful, rejection-free application.
Who Needs a Schengen Visa?
UAE nationals do not require a Schengen visa — they can enter the Schengen Area visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. However, all other nationalities residing in the UAE (Indian, Pakistani, Filipino, Egyptian, etc.) must apply for a Schengen visa through the relevant embassy or consulate.
Which Embassy to Apply To?
You must apply to the embassy of the country where you will spend the most nights. If you are spending equal time across multiple countries, apply to the embassy of your first entry point. For example, if you enter through Paris and then continue to Rome and Barcelona, apply at the French Embassy in Dubai.

VFS Global charges a service fee of approximately AED 60–100 on top of the visa fee.
